Draft for legal review. This is not UniWrite’s final policy. Do not treat it as binding until it has been reviewed and published.

Terms of Service

Draft · 30 October 2026 · uniwrite.ng

These draft terms describe how UniWrite is offered to Nigerian university students during the beta. The registered operator name, address, and any clause counsel wants changed will be filled in before this page is treated as final.

The service

UniWrite is a research and writing assistant. It helps you find academic papers, draft and edit project chapters, and check the formatting of a Word document. It is not a supervisor, a university, or a guarantee of a grade.

During the beta, access is instant once you join with Google and agree to the beta terms. Free beta credits are added when you join. A daily limit can delay access briefly.

Your work stays your responsibility

You remain responsible for the project you submit. Review every section, check that a cited paper exists and supports the claim, and follow your department’s rules on AI-assisted work. The Academic Integrity page explains this in more detail.

Accounts and beta access

  • You sign in with Google. You must give accurate information and keep the account yours.
  • We may refuse or withdraw beta access, including where an account looks misleading or the service is being abused.
  • The beta can change or end. Features and credit grants are not promised to stay the same.

Credits and payments

Chapter writing uses credits. Document formatting does not. Paid credits are bought in Naira through Paystack (card, bank transfer, or USSD). Credits do not expire and are not a subscription. Free beta credits are added once when you join.

If a payment fails, you are not charged for credits you did not receive. Refund requests are handled case by case and, where Paystack has processed the money, through that payment flow.

Acceptable use

  • Do not upload work you have no right to share, including another student’s project.
  • Do not try to break, scrape, or overload the service, or to get around beta access limits.
  • Do not use UniWrite to produce work you intend to present as unchecked fact, including invented citations.

Content and intellectual property

You keep the rights in the project text and files you upload. You give UniWrite permission to process that material so we can provide the service, including generating drafts, storing revisions, and — where you have agreed — reviewing beta session recordings.

UniWrite owns the software, the interface, and the writing of these terms. Feedback you send may be used to improve the product.

Session recording during beta

Approved beta use of the writing and formatting workspace may be recorded, including text on screen, if you have agreed to that before access is granted. Recordings are for understanding how the product is used and fixing it. They are not a public broadcast.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as it is available. Generation can be wrong, slow, or incomplete. Citations can be mismatched to a claim even when the paper itself is real. We do not promise uninterrupted access, a particular grade, or that a supervisor will accept a draft.

To the extent Nigerian law allows, UniWrite is not liable for lost marks, a rejected project, or indirect loss arising from use of the drafts. Nothing in this draft limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud.

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction, subject to any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the in-app feedback form once you are signed in. A published contact address will be added when this draft is finalised.
